In short
Yes. Westara recognises rows that are already in Activity and skips them when you import again.
How Westara spots duplicates
- If the file includes an order number, Westara uses it. That's the safest key.
- Without an order number, Westara compares date, account, security, type, quantity and price.
- The same check applies when you import a Westara template.
What to watch out for
If the same broker row appears once under a WKN (a German six-character securities code) and once under a different ticker (for example from two exports of different depots), it looks like two sells. Keep one chain and remove the twin.
Tip: export the full depot history, not just the last year, if you want open quantity and cost basis to match your bank.
