On a depot account, under Accounts → open the depot → eToro: you paste a read-only key from eToro, and Westara then keeps your activity up to date automatically.
Creating the key at eToro (on the eToro website, not in the app)
Sign in. If API Key Management is missing, finish verification with eToro first.
Settings → Trading → API Key Management → Create New Key.
Environment Real, permissions Read only (never Write), account type Main. Demo keys are rejected.
Copy the Public key and Private key straight away. The private key is only shown once.
In Westara
Paste both keys under the same names → test the connection → connect. You don't need to allow-list an IP address.
What gets imported
Closed stocks and ETFs, open positions without leverage (stocks, ETFs, real crypto), dividends, deposits and withdrawals land in Activity. CopyTrader positions go to a separate child depot, eToro · CopyTrader. Available trading cash becomes a connected account (for example eToro · USD), and crypto wallets become a BTC exchange (eToro · BTC).
This is a broker interface, not a bank connection through finAPI.
What Westara stores
The read key, encrypted. Keys with write permission and orders are rejected. The key never goes to the AI. Disconnecting deletes the key. Your activity stays, unless you tick the option to clear this depot.
Once connected, fetching (on Activity, Holdings or Accounts) and a daily sync keep your activity up to date. For history older than the interface provides, import a CSV.
In the app

You’ll find these areas in Westara after signing in.

- eToro: file or direct connection? Both work and you can combine them: the CSV file covers your full history, and the direct connection keeps new trades up to date automatically.
- What does 'Not imported: CopyTrader · leverage · shorts' mean? This line counts positions that Westara did not book during the last eToro fetch. They aren't in Activity. The numbers refer to the last fetch, not to all time.
