After you grant access, you use Match bank accounts to match each bank product to a Westara account: Link to, Create new or Skip.
The three options
- Link to: use an existing Westara account. One cash row can hold several products if you want.
- Create new: create a new connected Westara account. That's the default for a credit card.
- Skip: the product stays connected, but no account row and no Actuals are created.
A unique IBAN is matched automatically. Westara won't attach a card to a current account based on the last four digits alone. Fetching doesn't create accounts, so match first.
Joint accounts and other names
Products are grouped by the name on the account (the holder), as the bank sends it.
- Names with "/" or "and" (for example "Anna / Marco") are a Joint account. You can still attach it to the household cash row.
- Products in another person's name stay in their group. Create new creates an account with that holder.
- If the bank sends no name, the group says so. You can still link, create or skip.
Bringing back skipped products
Open Match bank accounts again (under Accounts or Integrations → Banks & brokers) and choose Link to or Create new. Memberships are skipped by default. Skipping is also right for products you don't want in your household picture.
If the bank connection created an extra cash row next to an existing one, merge the two.
