This order works best: accounts first, then real numbers, then extras, and invite other people last.
After you sign in, Set up on the Overview (or the progress ring in the header) walks you through it step by step. The list adapts to your app focus.
Create accounts. Cash, depot and/or Bitcoin accounts under Accounts, so imports and bookings have somewhere to go. Some starter accounts may already be there.
A real picture. Import a bank statement or a broker file, or log an expense.
The other half. With the app focus Full app, add whatever is still missing: budget or investments.
Connect your bank (optional). On Solo and Family through finAPI, read-only. This adds to file import; it doesn't replace it.
Watch Bitcoin (optional). With a read-only account key (zpub), never with a seed phrase.
Invite people (Family). Only once you've seen your own Overview with real numbers.
Depending on your app focus
- Full app: Accounts → spending and income → depot → bank connection → Bitcoin → invite
- Budget: Accounts → spending → bank connection → invite
- Portfolio: Accounts → broker import → Bitcoin → invite
You maintain cash balances under Accounts, not as a separate setup step.
In the app
- Overview
You’ll find these areas in Westara after signing in.
