What chat help can see

Chat help is optional on the free plan. On paid plans it's included — we only share what's needed for the question you're asking, never your whole financial life.

  • Questions about investments: which stocks you hold and how they're doing — not your total savings, bank balance, or Bitcoin in chat
  • Questions about spending: your budget vs what you actually spent, for that screen only
  • Your information stays stored in Germany; built-in tips still work when chat help is off or you've reached your limit

Bitcoin & sovereign hosting

Optional paths — Bitcoin with Captain, cold vs hot wallets, a private Start9 server, and optional BIP-110 context.

  • BIP-110 is a proposed Bitcoin soft-fork change. Some nodes and miners may signal whether they support it. Captain does not require BIP-110, does not change how your portfolio works, and does not take a political side — an optional desktop easter egg only shows live miner signaling for captains who are curious.

Independent reading (not part of Captain):

    • **BIP-110.org** — plain-language overview and FAQ. • **bip110.org /howto** — step-by-step if you want to run a signaling node (Knots, Start9, and other stacks). • **bip110monitor.com** — live miner signaling (same public feed the in-app lightning icon can show). • **BIP spec** — the technical proposal text.

For everyday Bitcoin tracking and wallets in Captain, start with How does Bitcoin work with Captain? — not this article. To unlock the in-app monitor, see the BIP-110 easter egg under Extras.
