Captain is a family dashboard for balances you log — it never holds Bitcoin keys or seed phrases. You keep custody in your own wallets; Captain shows amounts and live EUR marks under Fleet → BTC and on Bridge totals.
Typical path: 1) Create a BTC wallet account (Accounts) — optional network Bitcoin or Liquid. 2) Log an opening balance or buy in Logbook with symbol BTC. 3) Set up the BTC live price feed (one-time) so marks stay fresh. 4) Use separate account names for cold family wealth vs a small hot spend balance if you hold both.
What this is not: a full Bitcoin textbook, exchange, or custody product. Soft-fork politics (e.g. BIP-110) are optional curiosity — see What is BIP-110? only if you care about that easter egg.
