Under Accounts you keep connected accounts (through the bank connection, or watch-only for Bitcoin) and manual accounts that you create yourself.
- Connected account: balance and bookings come from the bank or the blockchain.
- Manual account: you set the balance, book Actuals or Activity, or import a file.
Add manual account
It starts as Cash (current account, savings or cash on hand). Bank details are optional; a household cash box only needs a name. Connect bank brings in bank products. Once matched, the row becomes a connected account.
Basic fields: name, type, owner, assignment (mine, joint, partner) and home currency.
Extra fields by type (optional)
- Cash: bank name and IBAN, if you import statements. Lists only show the last four digits.
- Depot: broker name and optional depot number.
- Bitcoin exchange: exchange name and optional identifier.
- Bitcoin wallet: Connect watch-only with a zpub, never with a seed or private key. Feel free to name long-term holdings and small spending balances separately.
Changing the type
The type is locked if the account is connected, if a cash account already has Actuals, or if a depot or Bitcoin account already has Activity. Empty manual accounts can still change type.
Deleting
- Empty accounts need a single confirmation.
- For accounts with Actuals, Activity, a bank connection or watch-only, you choose: delete these bookings too, or Move bookings to another account (same cash family or same depot or Bitcoin type, same currency, same holder). The confirm button stays disabled until you've chosen.
- Moving isn't the same as merging accounts with the same IBAN. The bank connection is dropped once the move succeeds.
Property, vehicles and valuables aren't accounts. You keep them under Illiquid assets.
