Westara

How does Westara detect contracts and subscriptions?

In short

In three ways: you mark a booking yourself, Westara suggests recurring payments from your Actuals, or AI points out anything unusual. A contract only becomes active once you confirm it.

1) Marking on Actuals

In a booking's menu: Mark as contract, Unmark contract or Open. Westara may then offer to attach other bookings from the same payee on that person's account.

2) Pattern scan

Only runs when the module is on. Westara looks through each person's Actuals (at least 90 days) for the same payee, a similar amount and a fixed rhythm (monthly, quarterly, yearly). Groceries, restaurants, clothing, travel, gifts, repairs, projects and savings are skipped. Suggestions land in the scan inbox and never become active silently.

3) AI

AI can explain overlaps (for example two streaming subscriptions), set the yearly cost against your plan, or point out a missing deadline. It doesn't cancel, switch or create a contract for you.

Rejected suggestions

Westara remembers the payee, rhythm and amount range, so the same suggestion doesn't come back. You can restore it under Rejected in the inbox.
